This is such a great essay and I love the work the CHN is doing. In the summer of 2023 I taught a workshop called "Good Ancestors" as part of a multi-day river trip on the Missouri, and then again in Yellowstone National Park the week of the Winter Solstice. Both were transcendent, especially the Yellowstone one. Anyway, I based both of them on CHN publications; Robin Wall Kimmerer's “Family Reunion” essay from the Kinship volume of their little boxed set, and then a few more essays from the "What Kind of Ancestor Do You Want to Be" book (I gifted each participant with a copy of that one). Everything formed a perfect framework for some transformative discussion. I'm thinking of doing an online version of the workshop this spring.
